GDC/BC Hits the
500-Member Mark
Michael Cober, October 04, 2010 at 12:11 PM

As the chapter membership chair, I get the pleasure of recruiting new members, answering membership questions and running portfolio reviews. I also keep an eye on our membership numbers, and I’m pleased to say that we have more than 500 members in GDC/BC. Not only does this speak volumes about how the design industry is positioned within British Columbia, it also gives the chapter enormous clout in how we speak with colleagues, sponsors and the business community.

It means that more than 500 of you see the value in joining a professional association that, since 1956, has been an advocate, voice and resource for Canada’s design profession. We provide national certification, promote high standards of visual design and support ethical business practices. We also build an awareness of design and its essential role in business and society.

Things are changing. The industry is changing, business is changing and technology is changing. More than ever, belonging to GDC/BC distinguishes you from your peers, connects you with a network of professionals and provides you with resources for your business and your design practice.

Thank you for being part of GDC/BC, and I look forward to celebrating our next milestones together.

This is fantastic news Mike! I remember when we cracked 200 back in the 1990s and how incredible that felt.
