Terry Kuzina — father, designer, creative director and one of the founding partners of Fusion Communications Group — passed away Saturday March 19 in Winnipeg.
In 1992 Kuzina was one of the founding partners of Fusion, along with David Wilkie and Derrick Coupland. Wilkie bought the company in 2003, and Kuzine stayed as Fusion’s creative director until midway through last year. Kuzina was a formidable talent and highly-regarded designer in Winnipeg, and always took time to mentor others in the industry. His passing is felt across the tight-knit Winnipeg design community.
Wilkie expresses his sentiments in a recent and resonant posting on Fusion's website: "...what I learned most from Terry was not about creativity or about design, but was about life. He had a special outlook on life that was contagious and early on he tried to instil in me a better sense of balancing work with life."
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 29 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church (Corydon Avenue and Stafford Street) in Winnipeg.
GDC Manitoba would like to send our deepest condolences to Kuzina's family and friends at this time.
