Purpose of the GDC Foundation
The GDC Foundation helps the Society of Graphic Designers of Canada attain its goals and objectives for developing and serving the profession, improving the human environment, and offering charitable support.
The Foundation allows the GDC to accomplish greater goals such as funding special projects, offering benevolent support such as scholarships and short-term financial assistance for designers experiencing hardship, and increasing awareness the GDC's role in promoting high standards of design and ethical business practices.
About the GDC Foundation
Graphic designers, design educators and innovators may need funding for education, research, special projects or professional development. They may also need assistance to complete their education, or to help them through difficult times in their professional careers.
With the creation of the GDC Foundation in 2006, the GDC is able to build on its student scholarship program, and support professional development programs such as conferences, exhibits and awards. We are also able to provide assistance to special projects such as "Design Cares" which helps improve the human environment.
With your support, the GDC can continue to fulfill a wider mandate by encouraging the future of the profession and making the world a better place. The Foundation is currently raising its initial capital through donations and bequests from designers, printers, educators, sponsors and others in related fields.
