What is ClipUp?
ClipUp is a unique form of casual photo show that provides our members with a fantastic opportunity to experiment with new techniques and styles. It's designed to get you to abandon any commercial or "safe" interpretation of a given theme and venture into that space of unabashed creativity.

How does it work?
You're given a theme and have a good month to play. You send the file to Technicare, and they'll print it and place it in a box along with all the others. We take care of the pick-up and delivery.Or you can print it yourself and simply bring it with you. (A box will be at the door to drop your print in) Prints are then "clipped up" to a cord strung between two stands.

Get yourself a beverage and talk with your peers about what you like and what you don't like, defend prints you think are cool. Since nobody knows whose prints are whose, it will add a level of mystery.

The best part...
Voting is done using the tried and true, bead-and-jar-method. You'll be given three beads on the way in and after you've looked at the work, you'll simply drop your beads into the jar of the print you like, or three jars if you can't make up your mind. At the end of the night, the beads are counted and the print with the most beads wins the Golden Clip trophy!!!

Images are to be printed on an 11x14 sheet of paper. You select image size and positioning. Full bleed, or 2" square we don't care.

Open to all Prairie CAPIC members and all photography students (members & non-members) who reside in the Prairie provinces. In an effort to include all members from across the Prairie Chapter, those not in Calgary can submit a print, but won't be apart of the voting process.

The Camera Store is sponsoring the event and will be providing appetizers for the evening.

Technicare is also sponsoring the event and is providing FREE 11x14 prints if you use the CAPIC Prairie ClipUp FTP site.

Don't forget that you can bring the print to the event if you prefer to print it yourself.
A CAPIC Member will be near the entrance to accept your submission.

3. After that, you don't have to worry about it. It will be dropped off at Technicare and picked up and clipped up ready for viewing when you get there. Don't forget the idea is that it's anonymous. Don't tell anyone who's print is yours.

You don't have to be in attendance or live in Calgary. This is open to all CAPIC Prairie member as well as all students. If you win and you live elsewhere, you'll be notified by e-mail and your Golden Clip award will be sent to you.
