Next CGD Certification Review June 8

On June 8, the GDC Alberta South Certification Committee (formerly the Portfolio Review Committee) will be holding a review for any Provisional 3 or LGDC members who wish to become CGD members.

If you would like to submit your work for review, please send or deliver your portfolio to the following address by June 1.

CHELSEA CARDINAL: LIFE AT GQ MAGAZINE AND BEYOND

CHELSEA CARDINAL IS AN ACAD GRAD. After starting her design and illustration career in Calgary she made the leap to New York where she landed a coveted intern position at GQ Magazine. Under the direction of iconic creative director Fred Woodward, Chelsea’s career has taken off and she now holds an art director position at GQ. Her work has earned her recognition from many places including the Society of Publication Designers and Communication Arts Magazine. In addition to her work at GQ, Chelsea has a freelance illustration practice and this past year launched a clothing line “Alle Vögel”. 
 
Chelsea will talk about being a Canadian living in New York and satisfying many creative masters. Her presentation will delve into her experience at GQ and what it is like to work for one of North America’s most renowned creative directors and publications.
