The GDC Atlantic’s 2011 Annual General Meeting starts at 2 pm on Saturday, January 29, in the Boardroom (D500) at NSCAD University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, followed by a presentation by type designer Rod McDonald CGD and printer and typographer Andrew Steeves on the life and work of Jim Rimmer FGDC, graphic designer, printer, type designer and caster.

The GDC Student Portfolio Night, held May 31, was a great success. This year it was held at the beautiful NSCC campus in Dartmouth. All 16 students were recent graduates of NSCC’s graphic design program’s waterfront campus. Their portfolios were reviewed by local design professionals Kimberley Dunn MGDC, Katie Goodz, Cameron Jantzen MGDC and Grant Tomchuk MGDC. A big thanks to our Student Representative, Thom Knowles, for encouraging his fellow classmates to come out for the evening critique. As Thom says, “It was a very beneficial evening for us.”
