This is not your typical grad show! Each graduate will be presenting the one project of which he or she is particularly proud in back-to-back three minute presentations. Followed by a festive networking social where the students' work will be on display and where you can get to know them a bit more depth about their work over light food and drink.

The Jim Rimmer Community Scholarship for Design Award is awarded annually to two students, or student groups, who have applied their design thinking to benefit their community and effectively communicate a message, affect action and promote change.
“The work process of Jim Rimmer on the almost lost art of pantographic type making” is featured in, Making Faces: Metal Type in the 21st Century. This dvd (45 minutes) was produced by Richard Kegler.
Kegler of the Buffalo based digital type firm, P22, will introduce and discuss the dvd.
This will be followed by the presentation of the Robert R. Reid Award for Lifetime Achievement in Canadian Book Arts to Jim Rimmer (1934-2010). The award will be accepted by members of his family.

The GDC/BC Salazar Student Awards were established in 1985 to honour Enrique Salazar, a founding member of the Society, a BC National Representative, Partner in Salazar Graphics and a highly regarded member of the BC design community.
Among many other achievements, Enrique Salazar remained committed to design education throughout his career and taught Graphic Design at Capilano College until his death in June 1985.
Metropolitan Fine Printers, the Founding Sponsor of this event, has once again joined with the GDC to commemorate Enrique Salazar and celebrate BC’c most talented and promising design students and their inspirational work.
