Yves Rouselle MGDC Yves has worked consistently to leverage the world of communication design towards a business platform. With 15 years of creative management behind him he has led brand development, implementation and resulting marketing execution campaigns for both national and international clients. He serves on the advisory board of the Centre for Integrated Healing and is the Past President of the GDC/BC Chapter. |

Linda Coe FGDC Design principal Linda Coe, FGDC, is a graduate of the Vancouver School of Art (now Emily Carr Institute of Art + Design), a Fellow of the Society of Graphic Designers of Canada, and charter member of the Society’s BC Chapter. She has held a number of executive positions with the Society including President (1989-91), and is currently Vice President, Ethics and Business Practice. Linda has over twenty-five years of experience in design, production and project management. The Ethics Chair is a position with a heavy PR bias, the mandate being to actively promote ethical design practice and ethical business practices concerning design in other industries in order to maximise the role of design and designers in the community. |

Juan Madrigal MGDC, SDGQ A designer and outdoors enthusiast, Juan is part of Mountain Equipment Co-op’s in-house design team. Originally from Colombia, Juan spent time working in New York City and Montreal, before he moved to Vancouver. Having over ten years of continuous experience in printing media and identity has provided him with a greater vision and understanding of the whole process, from concept to print. He loves to work with paper: printing, folding, cutting, trimming, etc. Typography and photography is what he thrives on now. |

Steve Mynett BMus, GRAD Trained previously as a Classical and Jazz Trombonists, and a Live Concert Photographer, Steve currently resides at Industrial Brand Creative as an Interactive Designer. An avid pedagogue, Steve teaches Web Development at the Electronic Media Design program of Langara College. In his spare time, Steve enjoys foreign films, long walks on the beach at sunset, and romantic dinners for 7. When not playing devils advocate in GDC Meetings, Steve is actively campaigning for most humourist GDC Executive member. |

Marga Lopez MGDC Born in Mexico City, Marga obtained a B.F.A in Graphic Design from the InterContinental University, with a focus on branding and corporate identity. Marga gained experience working at prestigious design firms in Mexico such as Signi and Landor, for companies such as Danone, Procter and Gamble, Grupo Modelo (Corona Beer), Cemex, Sony, Geo, American Express and Grupo Bachoco. Marga’s work has been recognized by the Mercomm ARC Awards and the NAIC Nicholson Awards as well as with her catalogue design work for Sony at the 2004 Premio Quorum. She currently works at Ideastream Design as a Senior Designer for clients such as ICBC, BC Hydro, Vancity, Fincentric and Flett Ventures. The Membership Chair is the gatekeeper for GDCBC. The position's mandate is to maximize the opportunities for prospective members to engage with GDCBC and manage and optimize the flow of the membership process. |

Greg Blue MGDC Greg Blue is a commercial photographer and graphic designer with 23 years of industry experience. His work has won numerous awards from the Lotus Awards to The Marketing Awards, Applied Arts Magazine Awards, The One Show and Cannes. He has been involved with academia both as an instructor and as a director of the applied arts since 1992 and continues to work with academic programs in print design, interactive design, photography & music production. Greg has also served both as BC Chapter President and National President of CAPIC and remains an active member of that association. |

Andy Maier MGDC Andy Maier has 16 years of experience in design and strategic brand development. In his Sponsorship role, Andy is eager to leverage the benefits of the local business community into value for the design community. His company, COURAGEOUSb, offers Brand Encouragement and Creative services to organizations that have the courage to make a social, environmental and community impact that goes beyond just financial returns. Andy has a 1989 Foundation Year Certificate from Emily Carr, and a 1992 Diploma from Capilano College’s Graphic Design & Illustration program where he was a Salazar Awards Finalist. Rayburn Marasigan MGDC Ray has worked as an art director and graphic designer since 1996. He has collaborated with various advertising and design firms in Vancouver and Calgary and handled such clients as Health Canada, Global Television, The Rick Hansen Foundation, Robeez, and The Four Seasons Hotel. He currently runs Marasigan Design, specializing in brand development. Current clients include Canwest Global (Global TV), Vancouver Film School (VFS), Network Entertainment and The North Shore Credit Union. His work has won several awards as well as appeared in the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. The Association Liaison Chair oversees the ‘network of networks’ within BC and exists to increase the relationships that GDCBC has with other professional groups and associations and to leverage those relationships for the benefit of the GDCBC membership. |

Patricia Xu MGDC An artist, designer and marketing specialist, Patricia is currently the Creative Director and Marketing Consultant at G.M. Communications in Vancouver. Patricia is an avid member of various volunteer associations and works closely with the Chinese community working with businesses, charities and the arts. Patricia studied at the prestigious Shanghai Arts & Crafts School and graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s Department of Literature & Art. |

Carolina BecerraMGDC Originally from Mexico City, Carolina studied communication design at Anahuac University and then at Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, where she obtained her Bachelor of Design. Carolina been a sessional design instructor at ECIAD since 1999 and is the Design Manager at Science World. With over 15 years of experience in the field Carolina has ample experience collaborating with small and large companies developing design and branding strategies, and acting as creative director and designer. Carolina has a keen interest and understanding of the business side of design. Carolina is very excited about joining the GDC and to contribute to expand the visibility and credibility of the GDC and the design profession. The purpose of the Public Relations Chair is to seek and leverage relationship opportunities in order to realize the goals of GDBC and raise awareness of design issues in the community. |

Alex Leynes GRAD Alex is GDC/BC’s Volunteer Coordinator focused on connecting the design community, from the students to the professionals. A tireless volunteer himself, Alex believes in the power of community and extending the reach of the GDC beyond the design circle. Alex is a designer with Industrial Brand, and is proficient in both print and online media. The mandate of the Student Representative is to ensure that student concerns regarding design and the design industry are communicated and understood by the GDCBC Executive and in so doing give voice to the professional designers of tomorrow. |

Jason Murphy LGDC Jason has 18 years experience of bringing innovation to life in cutting-edge internet product development, branding, multi-disciplinary design, and business strategy. A graduate of London's prestigious Central St. Martins school of Art, he created and guided the design teams of award winning web publishing tools and visual communications for broadcaster CTV and others, has served as Director of Operations for a private educational institution and has delivered hundreds of lectures on internet and design related subjects. Critical scope includes internet product development, creative team building, visual design, branding and communication, online community development, user experience design, creative and business process analysis and business strategy development and knowledge systems development. The mandate of the Copy Writing Chair is to create the written expression of the goals and ideals of GDCBC and to ‘fuel the fire’ of progressive design and progressive design thinking in BC. |
