Shawn Johnston, a GDC Members has graciously given us some of his time to do an interview. He is the founder and organizer of the Interlink Conference. What is the Interlink Conference you ask? Their website explains it better then I ever could : "This Interlink Conference is a small hand-crafted event created for web professionals of all types. Explore the intersection of web design, code, and content during 2 empowering days of curated talks and workshops in Vancouver. (Plus, there’s dodgeball.)”

This is Shawn, his design specialities and practices, his work with the Interlink Conference and a moment that changed his life.

Learn how a holistic approach to identity, brand and wayfinding can contribute to a cities’ competitive edge. Project innovations will include dynamic technologies, landscape, gateways, public art and placemaking. The lecture will also include how interior designers, architects, landscape architects, and exhibition designers can also engage in the urban realm.

Friday night, at our 4th annual Practivism event, the audience was asked to participate in a simple survey and answer "What three skills are required for sustainable design?" in order to be included in the door prize draw. The answers were inspiring -- see the Wordle event volunteer Jen Nichols created using the words!

As the theme of Practivism was Collaboration for Sustainable Design, I'm happy to see a 'collaborative' collage summing up our learnings!
