Hello GDC VI Members,

 

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Aaron Heppell MGDC and I am your new 2010/11 GDC VI President. It is an honor to be in this position, and I am looking forward to providing great experiences for all of our members, and expanding the influence of the GDC VI, while laying a foundation of success for our chapter. 

 

The new 2010 executive committee has been formed, and we are now working together with solid objectives for the new year. 

 

This year is focused on 'Discovering our Strengths'. There is great strength in the GDC VI Chapter, and once again, it is time to flex our creative muscles in order to take advantage of the unique opportunities that only come through our strong connections. 

 

The first stage of the plan is to increase our overall influence. How do we achieve this goal? Our attention will be focused on partnering and collaborating with other groups, and by engaging the untapped resources in the North Island area. This involves concentrating more on the future leaders of our industry through our students and educational institutions, and by becoming further involved in community initiatives. 

 

Our following goal is to improve our membership experience. How do we achieve this goal? By hosting engagements that contain invaluable substance, by providing expanded opportunities through partnerships with other groups,  and through improving membership benefits. Overall, this is achieved by supplying improved / relevant content and information to our members. 

 

The final objective is to Increase awareness of the GDC VI. How do we achieve this goal? By increased educational institutional relations, by increased professional group participation, and by communicating and establishing the value for non-members and business communities to become better involved. This includes opening up and reaching out to an expanded group of creative professionals beyond that of print media design. 

 

There is strength in the GDC VI Chapter. The new executive is taking command and harnessing that strength to improve the GDC experience for our members, the overall influence of our chapter, and to increase our membership.
