> Request for designers and photographers
The GDC Saskatchewan South Chapter and Not Nowhere would like to recognize local professionals in graphic design and photography by featuring collaborative work in an upcoming poster showcase at the Artesian Performance Venue called ‘Thirteen’ on January 23rd, 2013. Because submission space is limited for this event, we will be accepting photographers and designers on a first come basis. This project is only open to Saskatchewan photographers, members of the Not Nowhere community and members of the GDC Saskatchewan South Chapter.
Photographers, you will be asked to submit a high resolution photograph (no smaller than 9x12”, 300 dpi) for the chosen designer to create a poster from by December 5th, 2012. The image submitted may be cropped or manipulated, but we would like for you to work with the designer to determine a concept, limitations and execution of the poster. Photographers, please contact if you’re interested in participating in the showcase.
Designers, we will be pairing you up with a local photographer to work with on the concept of Thirteen. There may be some limitations of usage for the photograph, but we want you to use your creative skills and problem solving abilities. The design will be a pre-determined sized of 24”x36.” We will contact you with additional file specifications. Design deadline will be January 3rd, 2013. Designers, please contact president.sks@gdc.net if you’re interested in participating in the showcase. Let us know by Friday, November 23rd.
The theme Thirteen is open to interpretation. We want to see what it means to our creative community and we want to nurture the collaborative process. Posters will be auctioned off at the show on January 23rd in support of the Not Nowhere creative community (notnowhere.com), GDC Saskatchewan Chapter (gdc.net) and the GDC Foundation (gdc.net/foundation). We would also like to use the work submitted for future shows, design/photographer online showcases and blogs.
Thank you for your consideration on this project and we hope to hear from you soon.
