This year the Annual General Meeting for Alberta South Chapter will be held at the Hyatt downtown. It will be an informal meeting. We will present a summary of last year's activities and what has happened in the Chapter in 2009. We will also look at what is in store for 2010 and discuss:
- What is our role as a Chapter
- How can GDC Alberta South support the design community in our region
- What direction should we steer in
- Set goals and objectives
Please join us for this brunch meeting - the discussion is always richer when more people participate, and we all own an interest in this Chapter. We know you'll also enjoy the great food and atmosphere of Thomson’s at the Hyatt.
If you plan to attend we will need to adjust our space reservation, so please email by Friday, January 8th. Please also include your phone number in case in case we need to advise you of any last minute changes to time or venue (only in case of emergency).
Details on how to get to The Hyatt can be found on their website: http://www.hyatt.com/hyatt/features/hotel-search-results.jsp?Ntt=Calgary,Alberta&_requestid=1431392
Everyone welcome - see you on the 9th!
The GDC Board is comprised of elected volunteers, and all positions are open to nominations. If you want details on running or nominating someone, please contact Gwen Hetherington ( / 266-7118). UX Design for the web is a hot topic, but far too often we find it too hard to pin down so we just touch the surface and don’t explore the depths. As it is becoming something of a de facto standard it is in our best interest as interactive designers to understand the discipline. No longer something that has to always be hugely complex and costly, we’ll cover the “back to basics” approach to UX design in this workshop.
