New Media Manitoba is hosting the annual Digital Media Christmas Mixer, with good friends from the Society of Graphic Designers of Canada, On Screen Manitoba, the International Game Developers Association and Flash in the Peg. It's a wonderful time to mix and explore partnerships for the new year!

This year's event will be at Don Pedro's Mexican Grill. Doors open at 7:30 pm with music by DJ L'il Phil spinning at 8:00 pm. Everyone is welcome. The party will also feature a couple of project demos you may have never seen before – starting at 8:30, witness  a demonstration of Noah Decter Jackson's "Pirates Ahoy", along with "Digital Nations," a convergence project from Ryan Fitzgerald.

Tickets are $5 at the door (cash only), or by credit card online (which includes some of Don Pedro's specialty appetizers). You're welcome to come earlier to buy yourself dinner beforehand while the restaurant is open to the general public – but after 8:00 it's all ours!

Please note that the online payment system is via PayPal, but you don't need an account to register as there's a credit card option. We ask everyone to please register in advance so we know how many appetizers to order.

Everybody does it, over the years we collect, buy, use and pack away bits of stuff to 'help' us with our jobs. Look at your library, how many of those old typo-tomes have you dusted off lately? Was the Love Boat on TV the last time you used those french curves?
