Applied Arts Health Insurance Plan Available to GDC Members
New Group Benefits Plan includes dental, medical, life, disability and critical illness insurance.

Applied Arts Magazine, Canada’s premier visual communications magazine, recently launched a new Group Benefits Plan available exclusively to its subscribers. The Applied Arts Benefits program includes dental, medical, life, disability and critical illness insurance.

The new Group Benefits Plan will empower Applied Arts’ subscribers, many of whom are freelancers, self-employed or small business owners, by allowing them to purchase insurance at three affordable levels of coverage. The program is being offered through Associum Benefits and Green Shield CanadaInsurance.

“As part of our 25th anniversary celebrations, which started last year with our redesign, we were looking to do something special for our subscribers, whose loyalty and commitment to Applied Arts has helped ensure our ongoing success,” says publisher, Rosetta Heckhausen. “We know, from research, that our audience is made up of mostly freelancers, or self-employed individuals. Further research revealed that many did not have access to affordable group benefits. We contacted insurance companies about the concept of offering a group plan to our subscribers. Through Simon Maxwell of Completebenefits.ca, ASSOCIUM Benefits and Green Shield CanadaInsurance, a plan was created specifically for Applied Arts subscribers. Now, not only do our subscribers get the benefit of our great industry coverage, they can actually get benefits!”

In addition, members of the Applied Arts Benefits program will also qualify for the ASSOCIUM Advantage Corporate Program, which offers significant savings and discounts on business products and services, including office supplies and furniture, local and long distance telephone services, web conferencing and courier services. More products and services will be added in the coming weeks. “For GDC members who are subscribers, you can  save significantly in business overhead costs,” adds Heckhausen. “Just another way Applied Arts provides the best tools and resources for our audience to excel in their work.”
