Cusp Conference
Cusp isn't a conference about graphic design, or interior design or industrial design. It's a conference about ‘the design of everything,’ bringing together thinkers, innovators, skeptics, believers, visionaries and explorers from the arts, sciences, technology, business, design and government.
It's two days of creativity, imagination, passion and energy from 20+ presenters who will share their thoughts, passions and stories and help you create new ones – a concentrated blast of ideas, creativity and optimism that connects unexpected dots and lights unknown fires.
We may be living in a challenging present and face an uncertain future, but Cusp Conference is rocket fuel for anyone who believes that the best way to predict the future is to design it.
When: September 28 & 29, 2011
Where: Museum of Contemporary Art Theater, Chicago, Illinois, USA

Cumulus Conference
From Understanding Design and Back Again
As designers we have come full circle in our quest to create a sustainable world. Designers can no longer be spectators. The boundaries we are used to have disappeared and as human beings we “play” a real role in designing the world around us.
In our world of design the color “green” has now become more complex and is shaded in many hues. Some of these hues are divided into social, environmental, economic, functional, renewable and responsible. Others have not yet be identified yet but are proving to become major change agents in the future of the responsible designer. The reality is that designers are now beginning to see “green” as still being complex but becoming more holistic and part of their everyday lives. They are beginning to understand the problem globally by creating design solutions that are causing positive effects on how they live, work, learn and play.

MX Design Conference 2011
4th International Design Congress
MX Design Conference 2011 will present experiences from any area in which design intervention is demonstrated in nontraditional areas of knowledge or action, academic or professional, and their participation as a bridge in a diverse and changing world.
The various design disciplines are increasingly involved in projects that require a set of skills for which there is no specific profile of the designer. To this we add the cases in which the main contribution of the designer is not simply its ability to specify product design, but their approach to problems or method of work that leads to generate innovation. These new profiles then being formed from the experience of working in interdisciplinary teams, under nontraditional design processes, with actors as diverse in knowledge, attitudes and culture, while expanding the scope for the designer, requires a reflection on the defining his characteristics in a diverse and constantly changing society.
