This Friday May 25th sign up for the POGO Studio Tours and get a guided visit to Rethink, Domain7, Letterbox and MET fine printers and check out how each of these studios think, work, and get creative in their space. Each tour will last half an hour and will be guided by a representative of the host studio. GDC/BC will provide transportation between the studios.
On Saturday May 26th there is no better way for current students and upcoming design professionals to connect with the design community then POGO Portfolio Critique. The GDC/BC Pogo Studio Tours provide the opportunity to check out three of Vancouver’s hottest creative environments and one of North America's most awarded printers, Metropolitan Fine Printers.
The tour takes place on Friday May 25th 2012, registration will take place at the Vancouver Art Gallery (Hornby Entrance). Attendees will board a 20 seat charter bus to travel around town to visit each location. Each tour will last one half-hour and will be guided by a representative of the host studio.

The GDC/BC POGO Portfolio Critique is open to recent graduates aspiring to enter into in a career in communication design and to students currently enrolled in a design program. Leading industry professionals will be in attendance to provide insightful and constructive advice to attendees about their current portfolio. This is a great opportunity to practice 'real-world' interview skills and receive honest feedback from industry professionals in a non-competitive environment. This is an amazing opportunity for students to network with the who's who in the Vancouver design community.

PANEL DISCUSSION: The Truth
A panel of industry professionals will come together to share their experience on being a working design professional and the challenges you could face once you graduate from school. On this workshop you will gain from their hands on experience on what students REALLY need to know after graduation. Things that were NOT taught in schools and can only be learned from experience and hard knocks. This is a great opportunity for the students to live vicariously through experienced designers and to learn from other's experiences, and mistakes.
STYLE TILES: with Mark Busse and Steve Mynett
Style Tiles are a design deliverable consisting of fonts, colors and interface elements that communicate the essence of a visual brand for the web. They help form a common visual language between the designers and the stakeholders and provide a catalyst for discussions around the preferences and goals of the client.
