Some words from fellow designers who knew Hugh and his wife Ann who was our first administrative director and secretary:

"He was our first GDC secretariat and got the office in Ottawa started. He was a member of the Vancouver Island Chapter for many years and a willing volunteer for all things GDC. Farewell Hugh!" – Peggy Cady FGDC

"Hugh and I did some presentations for the Federal Business Development Bank (FBDB, now BDC) in the '90s. He introduced me to the GDC and RGD Ontario. Lots of energy, very helpful. Farewell indeed!" – Rick Strong, Ottawa

"It's been years since I've seen Hugh, and yet it just seems yesterday that he was exuberantly, emphatically telling me how we've 'gotta not stop doing good' in our society with design and graphics. He contributed a lot to help make it all happen, and our profession is better for his generosity." – David Berman, RGD, FGDC
