We are currently seeking an Instructor, Graphic Design to join our team.

Reporting to the Chair of Creative Arts, the successful candidate is responsible for instruction in a variety of courses within the Graphic Design Program and the Creative Arts Department. Duties: Preparing and presenting instruction in a classroom and laboratory environment; developing and revising course outlines and curriculum as required; interviewing program applicants; counseling students and evaluating student progress; participating in organization and administration of student field placements; keeping student records up-to-date and, assessing and establishing equivalencies; assisting in College activities including student registration and orientation; working with relevant organization and association representatives; participating in Departmental activities outside of the classroom.

Qualification Requirements
 

  • A minimum of three years post-secondary education in Graphic Design from a recognized learning institution;
  • A minimum of four years of current experience working in both the Graphic Design and New Media industry;
  • Current and relevant industry experience in the following areas of Graphic Design: concept development, typography, web design (including Flash/Actionscript 3), motion graphics and video editing;
  • Strong computer skills on both Mac and PC platforms, as well as extensive experience in Adobe Creative Suite 4 (emphasis on Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash and AE);
  • Experience developing and executing web, video, and other new media projects and working directly with clients;
  • Experience in developing online marketing campaigns using social platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube;
  • Strong industry relationships;
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development;
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and with others in a team environment;
  • Sensitivity to, and understanding of the learning needs of adult learners from a wide range of educational, cultural, socio-economic and age groups;
  • Experience in teaching and curriculum development is desirable.

Salary: $49,874 to $74,083 per annum*

*The successful candidate with a Masters or PhD in a related field will receive an Educational Supplement of $2,550 or $5,100 per annum respectively.
