Make plans to attend the 2009 GDC Manitoba Annual General Meeting – now with added door prizes!
The balmy days and sweltering nights of January means it's time once again to meet your local GDC board and hear what's been going down (and what's to come) in a busy year with the Manitoba chapter. It's a great chance to meet, mingle, talk design, win prizes, catch a flick and discuss all things GDC.
This year's AGM will be held at the cozy confines of the Park Theatre (698 Osborne Street) on Tuesday, January 19 at 7:00pm. Drinks and light snacks will be on hand.
Did we mention the door prizes? Yes! Those in attendance at this year's AGM will have a shot at a whole slew of fantastic door prizes. The grand prize (open to GDC members in good standing) is a $200 gift certificate to Winnipeg's (kinda) brand-spanking new Apple Store!
As an added treat, GDC Manitoba will be screening director Gary Hustwit's 2009 documentary Objectified – about our complex relationship with manufactured objects and the people who design them.

GDC Manitoba announces the second coming of likemind to Winnipeg – a relaxing and fun coffee-and-conversation-fest guaranteed to even further stimulate your morning caffeine fix – tomorrow morning at The Fyxx on Broadway (at Donald).
likemind is the simplest of concepts; there's not a whole lot to explain – but explain the New York Times did last fall: likemind is a monthly kaffeeklatsch for creative professionals, held in cities around the world... Gatherings have no formal structure, no fees and typically no agenda... participants exchange ideas, job tips and useful contacts, while also batting around ideas about technology, art, business and culture...
Designers and like-minded souls unite! All are welcome!
